A total remodel in Ballard WA gave us the welcome opportunity to pre-wire the living room, bedroom, and basement recreation room, for 3 separate systems. In the living room we routed the surround ceiling speaker wires through the ceiling and wall; all components reside in the pARTicular "CASE" walnut cabinet. The bedroom also contains a surround system and plasma screen; the basement, a 2-channel system and LCD screen. Three BluRay players provide each of the three systems with the highest resolution pictures possible, with great sound. Of course, a universal RF remote controls each system separately.

The Ballard WA customer's small bedroom is ideally suited for the Yamaha Sound Projector, seen below the screen. This unit provides all the electronics and speakers needed to create a 5.1 surround system without rear speakers. 42 small speakers produce sound at different angles, some of which reflect off the side walls and are heard as surround sound. It is very effective and takes up very little space.

Not shown is a Blu-ray player and subwoofer to round out the system, which has as its core source DISH satellite service and plenty of hi def channels with surround sound

 We pre-wired this new Ballard townhome for surround sound via in-wall and in-ceiling speakers. The small room lends itself well to a cozy home theater.

 The challenge in this Juanita, WA installation was running the wires through the solid built-in hickory cabinets. The two black pillars on either side of the fireplace that appear to be holding up the mantle, are actually free standing speaker towers that blend beautifully with the decor. The wires for the free-standing tower surround speakers (not shown) were routed through the crawl space below the floor.

This Sammamish home theater overhead projection system is the largest I have installed to date. The Optima projector is teamed up with Sanders Sound Systems electrostatic speakers (front and rear), B & K electronics, and Crowson tactile effects systems (transmits low frequencies to seating), to produce a very rich home theater experience. The biggest challenge was running cables through ceiling joists (requiring sheet rock repair) and under the carpet so that no cables are visible. With four teenagers in the house, I'm told it gets a great deal of use.

 This Redmond customer chose an exposed electronics approach, and the striking shelving by pARTicular appealed to him. Freestanding rear speakers were used because a rear window discouraged the use of inwalls! The customer chose Sanders Sound Systems electrostatic front speakers for their unparalled clarity and seamless quality throughout the frequency range.The Hitachi screen installation was straightforward and presented no major obstacles. It is a wonderful system that brings movies to life as well as DISH satellite service in surround sound.

This Clyde Hill home was a complete remodel, which gave us the chance to pull wire and install pre-construction speaker brackets, which saves installation time later. The picture to the right shows the rear surround speakers in the wall. I worked closely with the cabinet maker in designing the cabinet around the home theatre system. The owner wanted to keep the cabinet doors closed, so I installed quiet fans to keep the equipment cool. High definition satellite service and a single remote complete this visually as well as sonically appealing system.

 The installation of this 55" Hitachi plasma screen and sound system in a Redmond home presented a major challenge because there were no support joists behind the sheet rock above the mantle. We opened up the wall and constructed a support system that would handle the weight of the plasma screen, and then installed conduits for wires to the sound and video equipment on either side. The result was a secure, safe installation of the Hitachi 55” screen.
